Engaging People who use drugs Margaux Mueller was born in Kansas City and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. Upon graduating from the University of Arizona in 2014, Margaux began working in the substance-use treatment field in Phoenix, where she worked with women seeking recovery. After a year of being back in Phoenix, Margaux re-located to Kansas City, where her roots are, and entered the substance use prevention world at First Call as a Community Prevention Specialist and found that her passion lies on the prevention side of substance use disorder rather than the treatment side. As a person who grew up in a home where substance use was prevalent, she understands the importance of instilling protective factors in children’s lives. Margaux has been working at First Call in the prevention department for almost 8 years and is a Certified Reciprocal Prevention Specialist.
