This presentation will explore the reentry experience for those releasing from incarceration that have a history of substance misuse. People who are released from incarceration have a much higher risk of overdose and exposure to traumatic experiences. Upon release, these individuals face unique barriers and challenges to accessing resources. Participants will learn how to further relationships with probation and parole to build care coordination skills within the criminal justice system. Participants will gain knowledge on not only how to be an advocate for their participants pre-release but post-release as well.
