Programs

The Reentry Advocacy Program provides unique one-on-one clinical support to individuals releasing from jail or prison to the Kansas City, Missouri metro area [Jackson, Johnson (MO), Cass, and Platte counties]. Clients in the program receive recovery support pre-release, as well as ongoing support services as they return to the community. For questions or to schedule an appointment call Kelli Jo at 816.800.8083 or email reentryreferral@firstcallkc.org.

Sober ME

An intensive four-week outpatient program that consists of twice daily groups that helps clients understand their substance use and its impacts. The curriculum covers topics such as motivation to change, the disease of addiction, the stages of change, communication styles, self-awareness, thought patterns, relapse prevention, and many others. In addition to group sessions, participants in Sober ME receive weekly individual sessions to help them identify their progress and ongoing barriers for recovery.

ME After

A once-weekly support group for participants who have completed Sober ME. ME After, facilitated by a First Call clinician, utilizes and builds on Sober ME. ME After provides participants with a safe place to process relapse triggers, recurrences of substance use, and discuss barriers in their on-going recovery, while obtaining healthy peer feedback and support.
